What, Where
& Who?

Named by the NSW or "Rum" Corps in 1809, after the Earl of Minto (then Viceroy of India), Minto is now home to over 11,000 people. Minto is located 50 kilometres south-west of the Sydney Central Business District, within the local government area of Campbelltown.

Around a third of the households in Minto are public housing, with 44% of the suburb's households renting their homes.

4.5% of people in Minto have Australian Indigenous heritage, making it the biggest community in the Campbelltown area.

Campbelltown is Sydney's fourth most disadvantaged area, and within the region the distribution of low-income households is concentrated in five suburbs, including Claymore, Airds and Minto.
