Whatever comes
I moved to Minto in December 1995. I dont think it has really changed since then. I dont really want to go. It is very central here. Not having a car and that. I find it very handy.
My next door neighbours, weve always got on well with them, both lots. There was one when I moved in who moved out two-and-a-half years ago. Then the woman who came after them was nice too. I sort of kept in touch with both.
I worked at Minto School. My son went to Minto School. Then he went into the OC classes at St. Andrews but then I stayed working at the canteen and helping out down at Minto School. Im involved with them still.
I dont think it is easy to come to a conclusion whether Minto has changed for the better or for the worse. I think when this goes and whatever comes will probably be for the better.
I think the redevelopment would be classified as a milestone I suppose. Pulling all this down, redeveloping it. But, what is going to still exist when this is not Housing Commission any more? Are the community services going to still be around? Because that seems to come from the people.
